The ‘SideWinder’ is the Locksmiths tool that has revolutionised the way in which
we use the standard Letterbox Tool. Using it’s Registered Design ‘DirectDrive’
mechanism, it has the ability to turn ‘Nightlatch knobs/levers*’, ‘Thumbturns’,
Keys left on the inside of locks and even non-deadlocked Chubb Deadbolts when
used with the optionally available ‘WishBone’ adapter, swiftly and efficiently. It
is highly versatile, with the ability to deal with the majority of letterbox-related
situations, including those encountered by Warrant Locksmiths. 
It comes with approximately 17cms of built-in extension section, compatible
with the standard Letterbox Tool, and also features space directly above the
tool to mount a camera/torch bracket if required.
At around 26mm in thickness, the self-adjusting gripper assembly has been
designed to slide through even the smallest letterbox. It features an amazing amount
of torque, which Locksmiths at the ‘SideWinders’ official launch early in 2011,
commented specifically on. It does not use cord or string to ‘drive’ it.
The ‘SideWinder’ comes with a 12 Month Warranty, though the ‘gripper rubbers’,
must be considered a consumable, (carefully balanced between optimum performance
and longevity), and are therefore not covered under the Warranty, though the ‘SideWinder’
comes complete with spares, and additional gripper rubbers may be purchased online.
The ‘SideWinder’ comes complete with a tough case. The latest version also includes
a pair of wedges which may be used to decrease the gripper spacing in extreme
circumstances.
A detailed instruction sheet is included, and the simple technique for use, may be
easily mastered within approximately 10 minutes, with ‘openings’ of around one
or two minutes commonplace once practised. Simply position it, and operate it.
Job done, and another Customer highly impressed!
Always remember to use safety glasses when using this tool! There is always the
potential for danger when using any tools. We cannot be held liable for accidents,
or damage. Some minor surface imperfections may be apparent. This is the result
of the supply of the raw materials  and manufacturing process, and will not affect
the performance of the tool in any way.
